Like in most of the Cycladic islands, Naxos offers a large number of rooms to let. They are the most basic and yet common form of accommodation, offer adequate facilities for a relaxing holiday. Naxos rooms, especially in the newer or recently renovated units, are usually adequate in size and in most cases are family run.
There are plenty of rooms on Naxos island many of which can be found in Naxos Town, Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka.
What classifies in Greece an accommodation as “rooms to let”, apart from the basic facilities and furnishings, are the following:
1. A small table
2. One chair per bed
3. One bench for the luggage
4. If there is a veranda, it should be furnished with one table and one chair per bed
5. There should be a mosquito repellent device
6. Warm water should be available 24/7
Unlike hotels, where the star system is used, rooms are classified with keys.
Rooms to let can be anything from a simple accommodation unit to a luxurious and stylish collection of rooms with tennis court, swimming pool … etc. However, it does not provide its guests with a fully functional reception and lobby and there is no breakfast area in the premises.
The most important quality to seek for when it comes to selecting a place to stay is the cleanliness of the rooms and the premises in general. Naxos certainly offers rooms to let of excellent quality whose owners take their work very seriously, aiming to please the client with a clean and descent place to stay during the holidays.
